Analysis: NSA Spying Judge Defends Rule of Law, Congress Set to Strip His Power: “President Bush’s arguments for his secret wiretapping of Americans are not legal, a federal court judge ruled Wednesday standing up for a law intended to curtail Presidential spying abuses. His reward? Come Tuesday, the Senate is expected to pass a law legalizing Bush’s dragnet and ordering the Republican-appointed judge to throw out cases against telecoms that helped with the spying.
